Francesca Scavone
Francesca Scavone is an accomplished educator and performer. She has been a Woodwind Instructor at Platt High School since 2025 and is currently a music educator at John Barry Elementary School. Francesca was the woodwind teacher for the East Hartford High School Marching Band and was the instrumental and choral instructor for Charter Oak Cultural Arts Center in Hartford. She believes that all students should receive a high-quality music education in a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Francesca holds two Bachelor of Music degrees in Music Education and Clarinet Performance from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is an internationally awarded Clarinetist and is usually seen playing professionally in classical, jazz, free improvisation, and Klezmer style. Along with clarinet, she is a fluent doubler on flute, alto, and tenor saxophones. In addition to woodwinds, she is also a jazz vocalist. She has performed throughout New England, Texas, and New York. She maintains active memberships in CMEA, NEA, and JEN.
