Matthew Calorossi is the assistant marching band and applied music teacher. He has been a marching band staff member at Platt since 2025, serving as a Graduate Intern and Woodwind Instructor from the University of Connecticut. He previously student-taught at Griswold Middle School in Griswold, CT (2024–2025), and worked as a Woodwind Instructor for the Newtown High School Marching Band (2021–2022).

Matthew is a proud alumnus of Newtown High School (class of 2021) and the University of Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies (class of 2025), a Bachelor of Science in Music Education (class of 2025), and a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (class of 2026).

Matthew is an active music educator and professional musician playing saxophone, clarinet, and flute. He can be seen performing throughout Connecticut in pit orchestras, cover bands, big bands, and the Eastrock Brass Band.
