Simone DeLeon is a former Meriden Public Schools student who graduated in 2020. During her time there, she was actively involved in the music program, participating in choral ensembles, concert band, and marching band throughout all four years of high school. She also served as the Pit Section Leader for two seasons. These experiences played a significant role in shaping her passion for music and solidified her decision to pursue a degree in Music Education.

Simone recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education, where she developed a strong foundation in musical pedagogy and gained experience across a variety of instruments. During her time at university, she remained highly engaged in campus ensembles, including the University Singers and Symphonic Band. She also performed with a student-run a cappella group that focused on original arrangements.

Simone continues to serve the Meriden community by assisting with pit instruction at Platt High School. She is also growing as a musician and educator through her work as a vocal and keyboard instructor at School of Rock in North Haven. This fall, she plans to further her education by beginning her Master’s program. Simone is excited to continue working with the Platt Marching Band in the upcoming season.
