Wes Matteson has been a member of the O.H. Platt High School Marching Band Staff since 2022, serving in a manner of roles that include visual staff, equipment/prop construction/maintenance, and a support role to the bands' needs. 

Wes is a former student of Director Valentin's and has a combined experience of 10 years in the marching arts, beginning in 2016 with the Francis T. Maloney High School Marching Band as a saxophonist, trombonist, and baritonist before progressing to the University of New Haven's Charger Marching Band where he finished out his "on -the-field" performing career. 
Wes has played in a number of ensembles including both high school and college marching, concert, and jazz bands as well as experience playing in multiple pit orchestras for musical theatre. 

Wes is currently working for the Guilford Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic since graduating the University of New Haven with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Paramedicine, and continues to support the Meriden Community in which he grew up.
